During an event in North Carolina on Tuesday, protesters interrupted President Biden, expressing their anger about his approach to the war in Gaza. In response, Biden acknowledged their concerns, stating, “We need to get a lot more care into Gaza.”

The interruption occurred at a community center gymnasium in Raleigh, where more than 200 people invited by the White House attended an event featuring Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris discussing the Affordable Care Act and healthcare record.

The protesters shouted about the lack of health care in Gaza, prompting Biden to emphasize that everyone deserves healthcare. Despite more shouting from the demonstrators, Biden reiterated the need to provide more care to Gaza.

This interaction marked Biden’s first direct exchange with protesters about his Israel-Gaza war approach in weeks. Previous campaign stops had been invitation-only events to maintain focus on his domestic agenda.

The White House’s recent strained relations with the Israeli government, including allowing a UN Security Council resolution for a cease-fire in Gaza, added tension to the situation.
